I advise private clients in building collections of modern and contemporary art, identifying opportunities for purchase, both privately and at auction. Daily analysis of the art market gives me a clear sense of market trajectories, timing, and best practices for acquiring art. My background as an art historian allows me to situate contemporary art within a larger historical context, and to bring that insight to collection building.

I also assist my clients in selling works, both at auction and in private sales, identifying sales venues that maximize profitability and efficiency, and negotiating favorable terms. When consigning works of art to auction for clients, I solicit and compare competing sale proposals and consider every aspect of the sale including city, specific sale context, lot essay, lot order, and exhibition placement, among other criteria. My longstanding relationships with the auction houses and detailed knowledge of the process have consistently enabled me to achieve strong results for my selling clients.

I have advised private clients on transactions involving a range of artists, from notable twentieth-century artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Romare Bearden, Alexander Calder, Willem de Kooning, Ben Enwonwu, Sam Gilliam, Bob Thompson, and Andy Warhol to leading contemporary artists such as Tunji Adeniyi-Jones, Njideka Akunyili-Crosby, Derek Fordjour, Eddie Martinez, Danielle Mckinney, Chris Ofili, Elizabeth Peyton, and Zhang Enli to more newly emerging artists such as Heather Day, Yuan Fang, and Julia Jo.
